Karl-Anthony Towns ended up as the Knicks’ second-leading scorer in Game 2 of their opening-round matchup with Atlanta, putting up 18 points.

However, as Zach Braziller of the New York Post points out, Towns had little impact in the fourth quarter of the 107-106 defeat.

During the final 12 minutes, Towns took only two shots as New York let a 12-point advantage slip away.

He had been far more productive in Game 1, when he recorded 25 points along with four assists in the win.

“The opportunity just didn’t come around shooting,” he said after Monday’s loss. “But at the end of the day, I trust everybody in this locker room to shoot the ball. The opportunities weren’t available for me in the fourth and it was fine.”

Jalen Brunson handled much of the offense down the stretch, during a period when the Knicks managed just 15 points.

“We could’ve flowed better, for sure. We could’ve done that,” Towns said. “But at the end of the day, I have to watch the tape. When you’re so into the game, it’s hard to give a great assessment about it.”
