After Jimmy Butler had been with the Golden State Warriors for almost two seasons, the organization showed utmost respect and commitment to help him recover from a season-ending injury.
It has been several months since Butler suffered a torn right ACL in a game against the Miami Heat, and had the chance to give him away before the trade deadline last February.
General manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. and the front office have committed to the rehabilitation, prioritized stability and long-term planning over a desperate asset dump.
Butler expressed gratitude after being asked about his thoughts on the Golden State franchise after playing with different teams.
“It’s not good, it’s great. It legitimately is the best. You don’t realize it until you’ve been in other places, and I’m not talking down on anybody that are quite lesser than… You’re talking about the way that y’all run everything, the people that you have around, obviously the guys that get to rep the uniform. They just do everything the right way, the winning way, and it definitely shows in everything that we do here. I’m grateful to be a part of it now, and when I say I don’t want to be anywhere else, this is it.”
The 36-year-old forward has played for five NBA teams throughout his career – Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, and now with the Warriors.
He averaged 20 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.9 assists, while shooting 51.9% from the field this season before the injury last January.
