Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant has acquired an ownership stake in Metropolitans 92, the former French team of Victor Wembanyama, as reported by Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.
“I’m excited about how this first season with the Metros is going,” Morant told ClutchPoints. “They represent the culture, just like we do. I like what we are building and hopefully we get to take it into NBA Europe.”
Morant completed the investment through his media and business company, Catch12.
Wembanyama joined Metropolitans 92 in 2022, quickly became the team’s star, led them to the French league finals, won league MVP, and then declared for the NBA draft after one standout season.
