Isaiah Thomas appears increasingly interested in taking his career overseas, with the veteran guard publicly expressing his desire to experience basketball outside the United States.

His comments came as the differences between NBA and European basketball continue to generate discussion, particularly after Patrick Beverley recently argued that some NBA superstars would struggle to adapt to the European game.

Thomas, however, seems eager to test himself in that environment.

“I want to hoop overseas for a year!!! I want that experience! And to cook them boys over that water,” he wrote on X.

The 37-year-old has been away from regular NBA action in recent years. One of his latest opportunities came during the 2024-25 season, when he briefly played for the SLC Stars, the Utah Jazz’s G League affiliate.

A potential move overseas would represent a completely new chapter for Thomas, who has spent his professional career in the United States.

His name has previously surfaced in connection with European basketball, although none of those possibilities ultimately resulted in a deal.

Thomas played 12 seasons for 10 teams, including the Celtics and Kings. He averaged 17.5 points, 4.8 assists, and 2.4 rebounds in 556 regular-season games.

He was selected to play in 2 All-Star games.
