The Charlotte Hornets announced the signing of Kyle Mangas on Wednesday, September 2, adding another perimeter option to a roster that underwent a major overhaul this offseason.
Mangas brings extensive professional experience from the G League and overseas, with his most recent season split between the Austin Spurs and Chorale Roanne in France. He played 45 games for Austin in 2025-26, averaging 17.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 32.4 minutes per game while shooting 46.5% from the field and 39.9% from three-point range.
The 27-year-old guard also appeared in six games for Roanne, posting 11.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 25.2 minutes per game.
Mangas has established himself as a productive scorer and reliable three-point shooter throughout his professional career. His strongest G League season came in 2023-24 with the Indiana Mad Ants, when he averaged 17.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 48 games while shooting 48.2% from the field and 38.9% from three.
He followed that with a 2024-25 campaign split between Indiana and Austin. Mangas averaged 15.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 37 games with the Mad Ants, shooting 42.1% from three, before producing 17.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 10 games with Austin while shooting 47.0% from beyond the arc.
Mangas began his professional career in Europe with USK Praha in the Czech Republic, averaging 20.5 points and 5.4 rebounds in 36 games during the 2021-22 season. He then played for Siauliai in Lithuania in 2022-23, averaging 12.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists while shooting 38.0% from three.
His addition comes after the Hornets dramatically reshaped their roster during the 2026 offseason. Charlotte traded LaMelo Ball to Minnesota and Miles Bridges to Phoenix, ending the core of the era that had defined the franchise in recent seasons.
The Hornets also moved Tre Mann to Cleveland while acquiring Dennis Schroder, and brought in Naz Reid, Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neale and Dorian Finney-Smith in a series of moves designed to change the team’s competitive timeline.
Charlotte is now built around Brandon Miller, Coby White, Kon Knueppel, Naz Reid and Moussa Diabate, with Allen and Schroder providing additional shooting and playmaking.
The Hornets finished 44-38 last season, ninth in the Eastern Conference, earning a spot in the play-in tournament. They were only one game behind the Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers, who both finished 45-37, but the franchise opted for a substantial reset rather than simply running back the roster.
