Veteran guard Gary Harris will remain with the Bucks for the 2026/27 season after exercising his $3.8 million player option, according to Keith Smith of Spotrac.

The 31-year-old played a limited role during his first season in Milwaukee, appearing in 48 games and averaging 2.7 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 13.8 minutes per contest.

Despite the reduced playing time, Harris shot 41.2% from three-point range and 44.2% overall from the field.

Harris originally signed a two-year, $7.45 million contract with Milwaukee last offseason that included the player option.

After earning $3.6 million this past season, he had until June 29 to decide on the final year of the deal and has now chosen to opt in.

A 12-year NBA veteran, Harris spent the majority of his career with Denver and Orlando before joining the Bucks.

Given his experience, outside shooting ability, and expiring contract, he could still be a useful trade piece if Milwaukee looks to reshape its roster.

The Bucks also have several other contract decisions approaching, with Kevin Porter Jr., Gary Trent Jr., Taurean Prince, and Jericho Sims all holding player options for next season.

In addition, Milwaukee must decide whether to exercise its team option on Andre Jackson Jr. as it continues evaluating its roster heading into the offseason.
