Galway’s Kate Geraghty is The Croke Park Hotel/LGFA Player of the Month for August.
The TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship winning captain was outstanding in her defensive role as the Tribeswomen defeated Kerry at Croke Park on Sunday August 2 to win the Brendan Martin Cup for the first time since 2004.
Kate, from the Tuam-Cortoon club, produced a Player of the Match display as Galway landed just a second TG4 All-Ireland senior title and she also had the honour of accepting the coveted silverware as team captain.
Galway’s victory capped an outstanding season for Kate and her team-mates, who had retained their TG4 Connacht Senior title prior to the commencement of the All-Ireland series.
Galway also contested a Lidl National League Division 1 final against Cork in April, after performing extremely well on their return to the top flight.
Kate was presented with her award by Natalia D’Alcantara, Director of Food & Beverage, The Croke Park Hotel.
