Terry Rozier, who was waived by the Miami Heat earlier this month, had already spent much of the 2025/26 season away from the team due to his connection to a federal gambling investigation.

Now, his situation may worsen.

According to Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic, federal prosecutors plan to bring additional charges, alleging that Rozier solicited and accepted a bribe.

This could lead to a superseding indictment adding sports bribery and honest services fraud to the charges he already faces.

Prosecutors claim the NBA and the Charlotte Hornets were victims, saying Rozier “deprived” them of his “honest services.”

The new charges were presented Monday and will go before a grand jury, while his attorney, Jim Trusty, said he was informed just two hours before the hearing.

The case stems from a March 2023 game that drew suspicious betting activity.

The player exited early with a foot issue after limited play, and all under bets tied to his performance hit.

Rozier has played 10 seasons for the Hornets, Celtics, and Heat. He has averaged 13.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 665 regular-season games.
