Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra has praised Andrew Wiggins for his ability to contribute offensively and defensively in different lineups.
Spoelstra believes Wiggins is a valuable player because he can create his own shots, play without the ball and defend opposing wing players.
The Heat coach also said that Wiggins has adapted well to Miami’s system and deserves more recognition for his defense.
“That’s great skill set to have – to fit in different rosters … and still find a way to be impactful, and I think that’s one of his superpowers,” Spoelstra said.
“He can be a guy who can go get you a shot and he can also play off the ball … he’s really good in our system … defensively, he’s one of the more underrated wing defenders in this league for whatever reason. I’m not really sure why …”
