After four seasons as teammates and winning two titles, Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade knew why LeBron James chose the Philadelphia 76ers over the Miami Heat.

Despite the Heat’s attraction with Giannis Antetokounmpo’s presence, Wade believed there is a bigger reason behind the decision to go to Philadelphia.

The former Miami guard said James’ perspective could be what will give him the best chance to have a championship campaign this season.

“From a basketball standpoint, I thought it is a very strategic move at this point in his career. It definitely gives him the best chance… I feel like it gives him the best chance in the East to be able to get back to compete for a championship,” Wade said, via Conversations with Cam podcast.

Although many think the Heat could also reach a potential championship run given the newly acquired players, the core of the 76ers vary from its chemistry-wise.

Wade viewed the choices equally; it was just not what many expected, as potential suitors like the Golden State Warriors have a high chance of landing the veteran superstar.

“I think Miami would have been a good move as well, but a lot of moving parts in that needed to go right. I feel like this is a little bit more, right away from the beginning, the best chance for basketball. But also too, I don’t think we’ve seen the end of what this move is. I think it’s more to this move,” Wade added.
