The Golden State Warriors continue to be mentioned as a possible destination for LeBron James, with speculation growing after a viral video featuring head coach Steve Kerr.

In the clip, Kerr appeared to tell a fan that the Warriors had already landed James, leading many to wonder whether he was revealing inside information or simply joking.

Draymond Green quickly dismissed the idea that Kerr’s remark should be taken seriously.

“If I know Steve as well as I think I do, he was joking,” Green wrote in a post on Instagram Threads.

Although the Warriors have emerged as a potential dark-horse contender in the race for James, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers are still widely viewed as the leading candidates to sign the four-time NBA champion.

Golden State’s chances reportedly took a hit after reports suggested the organization was unwilling to pursue a trade for Anthony Davis, James’ former teammate with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Acquiring Davis could strengthen the Warriors’ case, but no such move has materialized.

Green has also contributed to Golden State’s financial flexibility by declining his $27.7 million player option, a decision that could help the franchise create room for additional roster moves.

Despite that, he is still expected to remain with the Warriors.
