Donovan Mitchell is optimistic about the Cleveland Cavaliers’ outlook as they head into the 2026 NBA Playoffs, via Sam Amick of The Athletic.
He has been especially energized by his backcourt pairing with James Harden, believing their chemistry can help drive a deep postseason run and sustained success moving forward.
When asked whether anything has shifted regarding his stance on a potential contract extension, Mitchell emphasized that he has no desire to leave Cleveland.
“I love Cleveland. I’ve said it before: I want to play here for as long as I can. And the goal is to win – as long as we’re continuing to win at the highest level. But I love it, man. It’s a place that I feel like I can call home, you know what I mean?” Mitchell answered.
Earlier in the conversation, Mitchell also questioned why there’s skepticism about his commitment, noting that he genuinely enjoys being in Cleveland.
The Cavaliers star added that he feels comfortable within the organization and embraces his role on the team.
