With Oklahoma City’s season now over, speculation surrounding Chet Holmgren’s future has begun to increase, including rumors linking the young big man to a potential move to Milwaukee.

Despite an underwhelming Western Conference Finals series, Holmgren remains widely regarded as one of the NBA’s most promising young players, and many around the league expect him to continue improving.

However, questions remain about whether the Bucks would be willing to commit significant long-term money to him if the franchise enters a rebuilding phase following a possible Giannis Antetokounmpo departure.

Any team acquiring Holmgren would also be taking on a substantial financial commitment.

His projected earnings over the next five seasons are expected to exceed $239 million, with annual salaries rising from roughly $41 million to more than $54 million by the end of the deal.

As a result, while Holmgren’s talent is undeniable, Milwaukee would need to weigh both his upside and the financial implications before making him a centerpiece of a post-Giannis rebuild.
