Duke standout forward Cameron Boozer had declared for the 2026 NBA Draft, the school confirmed.
He had been widely projected as a top-four pick after an exceptional freshman season with the Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball, averaging 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.4 steals while shooting efficiently across the board.
Boozer had ranked among the national leaders in scoring, rebounding, and double-doubles, and despite being a natural power forward, he showed strong passing ability, often serving as a playmaking hub for Duke’s offense.
His standout year earned him multiple honors, including Associated Press Player of the Year, Consensus All-American recognition, the Naismith Men’s College Player of the Year award, and the Karl Malone Award.
At the top of the draft, prospects like AJ Dybantsa of BYU Cougars men’s basketball and Darryn Peterson of Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball had also been in contention for the No. 1 pick, with Caleb Wilson from North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball close behind.
Boozer had been ranked No. 3 by ESPN and projected third overall by Bleacher Report.
Despite his production, he had been expected to address questions about his athleticism, defense, and scoring style during pre-draft workouts.
