Cade Cunningham of the Detroit Pistons has been dealing with a high turnover rate in the series, averaging 6.3 per game, including nine in Game 3 – matching his assist total.
As the Detroit Pistons look to avoid an early playoff exit despite being the Eastern Conference’s top seed, Cunningham acknowledged the need to clean up his play, according to Coty Davis of the Detroit News.
“It’s a possession game in the playoffs, and a lot of this falls on my shoulders where I have to be better,” Cunningham said.
“I have to make sure I am doing a good job of getting the ball out to my guys to make sure they can make plays.
“We have had too many empty possessions where we are giving the ball back to them. Again, that’s on me.”
Cunningham has played 5 seasons for the Pistons. He has averaged 22.5 points, 8.0 assists and 5.4 rebounds in 272 regular-season games.
He was selected to play in 1 All-Star game.
