The NBA and NBPA have ruled, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), that Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham and Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic will still qualify for all major awards for the 2025–26 regular season.

Cunningham reached 63 eligible games, missing 12 after suffering a collapsed lung that was diagnosed on March 17.

Doncic appeared in 64 eligible games, with two absences tied to traveling to Slovenia for the birth of his daughter.

After evaluating the circumstances surrounding both players, the league and union agreed they met the requirements under the CBA’s extraordinary circumstances clause.

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, who played in 60 eligible games, also pursued an extraordinary circumstances appeal to remain in award consideration.

However, an independent arbitrator rejected his case, leaving him ineligible for end-of-season honors in 2025–26.
