The Milwaukee Bucks are beginning a search for a new head coach after moving on from Doc Rivers at the end of the season.

It marks the first time since 2018 that GM Jon Horst is conducting a full coaching search, as the previous two hires came with little uncertainty.

Adrian Griffin was widely viewed as the preferred choice of Giannis Antetokounmpo, while Rivers was essentially the lone option considered after Griffin was dismissed.

Names already connected to the vacancy include former head coaches and Bucks assistants Taylor Jenkins and Darvin Ham, though Horst is expected to explore a broad pool of candidates.

One complication in the process is uncertainty around what the roster will look like next season, making it harder to fully present the job to interested coaches.

Jenkins has also surfaced as a possibility for openings with the Washington Wizards and the Orlando Magic.

Washington has indicated it plans to keep Brian Keefe, while Orlando’s decision on Jamahl Mosley may not come until after the postseason.

The Magic secured the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs by defeating the Charlotte Hornets on Friday and are set to face the Detroit Pistons.
