Bogdan Bogdanovic says his attention is fully on helping the Houston Rockets compete for an NBA title as he prepares for his first season with the franchise.
The veteran guard is training in Herceg Novi, Montenegro, before returning to the United States for training camp and is embracing the fresh start with Houston.
“As always, it is a new contract, a new challenge and a new team,” Bogdanovic told RTHN. “I signed with Houston, I’m happy, and we’ll see what this year brings. I hope that beginning my preparations here will bring me good luck.”
After previous stops with the Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Clippers, Bogdanovic said his NBA career has taught him the importance of consistency.
“My years in the NBA have taught me that you have to work on every aspect of the game, but discipline and continuity are the most important things,” he said. “I’m still trying to remain as disciplined as possible in my approach to the game, and we’ll see how far that takes me.”
The 33-year-old’s priorities for the upcoming season are clear.
“For this season, my first goal is to stay healthy, achieve team success and put myself in a position to compete for an NBA championship,” Bogdanovic added. “That would be a huge step forward.”
Although he admitted returning to Partizan remains a long-term ambition, Bogdanovic said his complete focus is on the Rockets.
“I have now signed with Houston, and my mind is completely there. I can’t think about what might happen in two, three or four years.”
