Besiktas has added another experienced wing to its roster, announcing Saturday the signing of American guard/forward DaQuan Jeffries as the Turkish club continues to strengthen its squad for its return to the EuroLeague in the 2026-27 season.
The 28-year-old arrives after spending the 2025-26 campaign in the Sacramento Kings organization, where he appeared in three NBA games and earned All-G League First Team honors while starring for the Stockton Kings.
Jeffries brings seven years of professional experience, including parts of six NBA seasons with the Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, New York Knicks and Charlotte Hornets. Across 114 NBA games, including 25 starts, he has averaged 4.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 16.0 minutes per game while shooting 42.1% from the field.
Although his NBA opportunities were limited last season, Jeffries made the most of them. He averaged 10.3 points in 20.0 minutes across three appearances for Sacramento, shooting 57.9% from the floor, 44.4% from three-point range and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line.
His largest NBA role came with the Hornets in 2024-25, when he played 47 games and made 20 starts. During that season, Jeffries averaged 6.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists while logging 22.8 minutes per game. He connected on 33.5% of his three-point attempts and provided defensive versatility on the wing.
Besiktas has been one of the busiest clubs in Europe this offseason following its promotion back to the EuroLeague. The Turkish side has already added Furkan Korkmaz, Scottie Wilbekin, Metecan Birsen and center Mady Sissoko, while replacing several key contributors from last season’s EuroCup roster.
Among the notable departures are Jonah Mathews, Brynton Lemar, Ismael Kamagate, Sertac Sanli, Yigit Arslan, Canberk Kus and Yigit Coban.
Replacing Mathews’ production will be one of the club’s biggest challenges. The veteran guard led Besiktas in EuroCup scoring during the 2025-26 season, averaging 13.9 points and 3.0 assists while shooting 35.5% from beyond the arc. Lemar added 9.6 points per game, while Kamagate anchored the interior with 5.8 points on an efficient 74.2% shooting from the field.
