Sacramento Kings guard Ben Simmons has suffered a season-ending torn right Achilles tendon, according to ESPN, dealing a major setback to his anticipated return to NBA action.
The injury reportedly occurred during Sunday’s practice, with initial concerns suggesting that Simmons had sustained significant damage to his Achilles tendon.
An MRI subsequently confirmed the torn right Achilles, ruling the guard out for the remainder of the season.
