The Chicago Bulls fell 124-120 to the Washington Wizards on Saturday, October 24, despite Caleb Wilson recording 30 points and 14 rebounds in his home debut. Trae Young led Washington with 25 points and nine assists as the Wizards improved to 2-1 and handed Chicago its second loss in three games.
Kyshawn George added 22 points and nine rebounds for Washington, while Anthony Davis finished with 19 points. Justin Champagnie contributed 11 points and 14 rebounds off the bench as the Wizards opened a three-game road trip with a victory.
Wilson, the No. 4 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, recorded his first career double-double. He shot 10-of-24 from the field and 9-of-11 from the free-throw line, but made just one of nine attempts from three-point range.
Chicago established a 10-point lead in the second quarter, going ahead 60-50 after Wilson finished a fast break with a dunk with 2:02 remaining in the half. The rookie followed with a reverse jam before Tre Johnson hit a three-pointer in the closing seconds to cut Washington’s deficit to 62-57 at halftime.
The game changed in the third quarter, when Washington outscored Chicago 40-20. Young scored seven points and delivered five assists during the period, helping the Wizards build a commanding advantage. His lob to Alex Sarr for a dunk gave Washington a 97-80 lead with 34 seconds left in the quarter.
Chicago responded with 38 points in the fourth, but the rally fell short as Washington maintained its advantage. Josh Giddey finished with nine points and 10 assists, while Matas Buzelis added 21 points and five rebounds.
The Bulls struggled from beyond the arc, converting 12 of 43 attempts. They have now made just 28 of 124 three-point attempts through three games, a 22.6% success rate.
Washington played without No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa, who was sidelined by a sprained left ankle. Chicago was also missing Noa Essengue with a head contusion and Patrick Williams because of a groin injury.
The Wizards visit the Charlotte Hornets on Monday, October 26, while the Bulls travel to face the Boston Celtics that night.
