Dillon Brooks is facing a misdemeanor DUI charge stemming from his arrest in Scottsdale, Arizona, earlier this year.
Prosecutors filed a criminal complaint Monday related to the March incident. According to police, Brooks was stopped by officers in Scottsdale and later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Brooks was taken to Scottsdale City Jail following the arrest, where he was processed before being released from custody at approximately 3:30 a.m.
The March incident was not Brooks’ only traffic-related encounter with Scottsdale police this year. In January, he was reportedly stopped after allegedly driving 85 mph in a 45-mph zone.
Brooks has been with Phoenix since 2025 after previously playing for the Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets.
The veteran forward has also dealt with injuries in recent months, including a broken hand that kept him off the court.
The Suns acknowledged that the newly filed charge relates to the previously reported March incident.
“This charge stems from the incident last March. We have addressed the matter with Dillon and have no further comment,” Suns Senior Vice President of Communications Stacey Mitch told TMZ.
