Barcelona has been dealt an early injury concern ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, with summer signing Tosan Evbuomwan set for a spell on the sidelines.
The 25-year-old forward suffered a subluxation of his left shoulder while representing Great Britain on Sunday.
Barcelona confirmed that Evbuomwan will begin rehabilitation and that his condition will be assessed again in three weeks.
The setback comes shortly after Evbuomwan joined the Spanish powerhouse on a two-year contract, marking the start of a new chapter in Europe following several seasons split between the NBA and G League.
After going undrafted in 2023, the British forward earned opportunities with several NBA organizations, including the Detroit Pistons, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks and Charlotte Hornets.
Across 50 NBA appearances over three seasons, Evbuomwan posted averages of 7.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
His most productive stretch came with Brooklyn during the 2024-25 season, when he averaged 9.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 28 games.
Evbuomwan also enjoyed considerably larger offensive roles in the G League, averaging 17.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and one steal over 58 games.
