The Utah Jazz have agreed to a deal with free agent guard Terrell Brown Jr., according to Chris Haynes. Brown joins Utah after helping the Greensboro Swarm win the G League championship in the 2025-26 season.
Brown spent the 2025-26 G League season with Greensboro, averaging 11.9 points, 6.4 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 50 games while shooting 40.4% from the field and 32.5% from three-point range. He also posted six double-doubles and two triple-doubles during the season.
The 6-foot-3 guard has built his reputation around playmaking and ball pressure. In Greensboro’s championship run, Brown provided a steady presence as a primary ball-handler, continuing a professional career that has included stops in the G League and overseas opportunities.
Brown entered the G League in 2022-23 with the Maine Celtics, averaging 7.5 points and 3.9 assists in 34 games before joining Greensboro. His production increased after moving to the Swarm, where he averaged 12.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 47 games during the 2023-24 season.
The Jazz enter the 2026 offseason focused on developing a young roster after finishing 22-60 during the 2025-26 regular season, the worst record in the Western Conference. Utah has prioritized adding developmental pieces around Lauri Markkanen, Keyonte George, Ace Bailey and other young players.
Brown’s arrival adds another guard option to a rotation that featured several young ball-handlers last season. Keyonte George led Utah with 23.6 points and 6.1 assists per game, while Isaiah Collier averaged 11.7 points and 7.2 assists. Walter Clayton Jr. also contributed 6.8 points and 3.2 assists per game across 45 appearances.
The Jazz selected Darryn Peterson with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, adding another high-level guard prospect to the roster. Brown gives Utah an experienced developmental guard who can compete for minutes while providing leadership for younger players.
Before turning professional, Brown played four college seasons at Seattle, Arizona and Washington. He finished his college career at Washington in 2021-22, averaging 21.7 points, 4.3 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 32 games while shooting 45.2% from the field.
