The Golden State Warriors remain committed to Stephen Curry, but questions continue to surround the franchise’s long-term direction after another quiet offseason.
According to The Athletic’s Nick Friedell, there is growing speculation around the league that Curry could eventually reconsider his future if the team’s struggles continue.
“Now, a few months later, with little improvement to the roster, the league wonders whether Curry’s mindset will change. Speculation continues from both fans and the media that Curry may become so frustrated that he eventually asks out during the final year or two of his career,” Friedell wrote.
“But that’s still hard to envision given that he has been so consistent in both his messaging about wanting to stay with the Warriors and in expressing his love for the Bay Area.”
Golden State was unable to land LeBron James in free agency and has yet to add another superstar to ease the offensive burden on Curry.
Instead, the Warriors’ offseason was highlighted by selecting Yaxel Lendeborg with the 11th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Despite the uncertainty, Curry has consistently expressed his desire to spend his entire career with the Warriors.
