Vince Carter believes the Philadelphia 76ers became one of the NBA’s most dangerous teams by adding LeBron James to an already talented roster.

Before James officially agreed to a reported two-year veteran minimum contract with Philadelphia, Carter shared his thoughts on the move during Cousins with Vince Carter & Tracy McGrady.

“That’s cheating,” Carter said one day before James was added by Philly.

He then explained why he felt the fit would be so favorable.

“That’s cheating if he goes there, because he doesn’t have to do much to still be him.”

Carter pointed to the talent already surrounding James, including Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown and V.J. Edgecombe.

Philadelphia also strengthened its roster this offseason by drafting Labaron Philon Jr. and acquiring Dean Wade, Anfernee Simons and Ariel Hukporti, while expecting several young contributors to return.

Instead of carrying the entire workload, James can share responsibilities with multiple All-Star-caliber teammates.

The 41-year-old remains highly productive after averaging 20.9 points, 7.2 assists and 6.1 rebounds with the Lakers last season, while posting 23.2 points, 7.3 assists and 6.7 rebounds during the playoffs.
