The Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat completed a second-round pick swap during the 2026 NBA Draft, with Oklahoma City sending No. 37 selection Ryan Conwell to Miami in exchange for the No. 41 pick and cash, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.
The move came during the second round on June 24, with the Thunder continuing their draft-night strategy of maintaining flexibility while adding future assets. Oklahoma City entered the night after a 64-18 regular season that earned the top seed in the Western Conference, but the Thunder were eliminated in the conference finals by the San Antonio Spurs in seven games.
Miami originally controlled the No. 41 pick and used it to select Kentucky guard Otega Oweh after the trade. The Heat finished the 2025-26 season 43-39, earning the No. 10 seed in the Eastern Conference and a Play-In Tournament spot.
Conwell, a 6-foot-3 guard, spent his college career at South Florida, Indiana State, Xavier and Louisville. As a senior at Louisville in 2025-26, he averaged 18.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 34 games while shooting 40.8% from the field, 34.5% from three-point range and 83.2% from the free-throw line.
The Louisville guard became a high-volume perimeter scorer during his final season, attempting 9.6 three-pointers per game. Across his four-year college career, Conwell averaged 14.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists while shooting 37.6% from beyond the arc.
Oweh, the player sent to Oklahoma City at No. 41, also brings extensive college experience. The Kentucky guard averaged 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists as a senior in 2025-26, appearing in all 36 games and starting each one.
The 6-foot-5 guard shot 46.5% from the field, 33.3% from three and 73.1% from the free-throw line in his final season. Over four college seasons at Oklahoma and Kentucky, Oweh averaged 13.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 47.8% overall.
