FC Barcelona is reportedly pursuing legendary coach Zeljko Obradovic following Xavi Pascual’s expected departure to Dubai, according to L’ Esportiu.
The Spanish powerhouse is searching for a major figure to lead its 2026-27 EuroLeague project, and Obradovic has emerged as the club’s top target.
Barcelona’s interest comes during a period of organizational change under president Joan Laporta, with the club hoping a coach of Obradovic’s stature can restore stability and elevate its European ambitions.
Obradovic is widely considered the most successful coach in EuroLeague history, winning a record nine titles with clubs including Partizan, Real Madrid, Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce.
After leaving Partizan last November, he reportedly planned to evaluate his future after the 2026 EuroLeague Final Four in Athens.
Meanwhile, Pascual is expected to leave Barcelona for a lucrative offer from Dubai.
Although Barca had also been linked to Ibon Navarro and Vassilis Spanoulis, the club’s focus now appears centered on Obradovic.
