The Orlando Magic have dismissed head coach Jamahl Mosley following five seasons with the team.

President of basketball operations Jeff Weltman, who recently signed an extension to remain in charge of the front office, will oversee the search for a replacement.

During his tenure, Mosley compiled a 189-221 regular-season record. He guided Orlando to three straight playoff appearances, though the team was unable to advance past the first round in any of those runs.

Speculation about a coaching change had been building late in the season, particularly as injuries contributed to the team falling short of expectations.

Still, Mosley helped rally the group to secure the eighth seed through the Play-In Tournament.

Orlando then surged to a 3-1 series lead over the top-seeded Detroit Pistons, but dropped the next three games, resulting in another first-round exit.
