Anthony Edwards is now listed as questionable for Game 1 as the Minnesota Timberwolves get set to open their series against the San Antonio Spurs, while he continues dealing with a left knee bone bruise.
Earlier updates from Shams Charania of ESPN pointed to “growing optimism” that Edwards could be available later in the matchup, potentially around Game 3 or 4.
The injury dates back to April 25, when he suffered it during Game 4 of the opening round.
Given the estimated one-to-two-week recovery period, the timeline lines up with a possible return toward the middle of the series, meaning he’s still likely to miss the first couple of games.
Edwards has already resumed some activity, going through workouts on both Saturday and Sunday before joining the team on its trip to San Antonio.
Even so, the Timberwolves intend to be cautious with his recovery, particularly because he has also been managing inflammation in his right knee in recent weeks.
