Mike Prada of The Athletic highlighted just how extreme the Orlando Magic’ struggles were in Game 6, pointing to historically poor shooting numbers.
In the second half alone, Orlando went just 4-of-37 from the field, good for a 10.8% shooting mark – the lowest for any team in a half, whether in the regular season or playoffs, since the 1997/98 season.
Their issues were consistent across both quarters, as they shot 3-for-17 in the third while scoring only 11 points, then followed that with a 1-of-20 performance in the fourth, producing just eight points.
The fourth-quarter showing was especially notable, with that 1-for-20 line translating to 5.0% shooting – the worst field goal percentage ever recorded in a single playoff quarter during the play-by-play era, according to Prada.
