Allen books semi-final spot; World Championship beaten

Mark Allen has made the final four of the World Snooker Championships for just the third time in his career.

The Antrim native defeated England’s Barry Hawkins 13-11, to set up a semi-final with one of Hossein Vafei or Wu Yize.

Shaun Murphy has inflicted the Crucible curse on Zhao Xintong by booking his place in the semi-finals

On the other table, Hossein Vafei has fallen behind against Wu Yize – the Chinese potter leads 9-6

Neil Robertson and John Higgins resume from 7pm this evening, with the Australian leading 9-frames-to-7.
