As the Orlando Magic faced a must-win play-in matchup against the Charlotte Hornets for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot, their season had seemed to be slipping away, especially with Charlotte entering as one of the league’s hottest teams.
According to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN, a pregame film session that morning played a key role in shifting the team’s mindset, as it featured highlights from several Magic players’ standout moments in past NCAA tournament runs, reminding them of their abilities.
“It makes everybody feel a bit better,” guard Jalen Suggs said.
“You remember where you came from. Mose (head coach Jamahl Mosley) is really good at that, giving us reminders of who we are, our complete basketball journey, not just whether it be the frustrations or the heaviness of right now.”
The Magic are moving forward after their Game 2 loss, but they can’t just pretend that second half didn’t happen. Story: https://t.co/pYJf58iw07
