
Kerry were victorious away to Roscommon in the Christy Ring Cup.
In Ballyforan the Kingdom won by 4-22 to 1-18.
The opening score of the encounter was a first minute goal from Kerry’s Michael Slattery. The Kingdom led 1-4 to 0-4 after ten minutes. They reeled off 4 points without reply-through Padraig Boyle, Kevin Goulding, Jordan Brick and Michael Slattery-to go 7 clear. It was 1-10 to 5 points midway through the half when Roscommon were gifted a goal as Kerry keeper Conor Bohane dropped a shot from distance to the net. Roscommon continued to eat into the Kingdom lead and only trailed 1-12 to 1-10 after 27 minutes. The gap rose to 5 at half time; 1-15 to 1-10.
A 42nd minute Padraig Boyle goal had Kerry 7 up at 2-16 to 1-12. Kerry gradually pulled away, Padraig Boyle netting again just after the hour mark to make it 3-21 to 1-15. Boyle had his hat trick 3 minutes later. The gap at the end was 13.
