Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid LIVE: Hosts score quickfire double after Camavinga sent off to book semi-final place

Bayern Munich won a thrilling Champions League quarter-final to dump Real Madrid out of Europe in an instant classic.

With Real ahead late in the second half and the score 4-4 on aggregate after a breathless first, it looked to be heading towards extra time. But substitute Eduardo Camavinga was given a second booking for kicking the ball away and delaying a Bayern free-kick, with his moment of madness turning the tie on its head.

Luis Diaz, who scored the first goal of the tie in Bayern’s 2-1 first leg win, was decisive once more as he fired home to make it 5-4 on aggregate, and Michael Olise produced a stunning winner with the last kick of the game to book a semi-final meeting with reigning champions PSG.

Real protested at the final whistle but to no avail, while the substituted Arda Guler – having earlier enjoyed the best 30 minutes of his career to date, scoring twice inside the first half hour – was also handed a red card for dissent.

Guler’s strikes – the first in the first 45 seconds – came either side of an Aleksandar Pavlovic header from a corner a mere six minutes later, with Harry Kane restoring Bayern’s lead again before Kylian Mbappe levelled once more with a fifth goal of the first half.

The crucial moments

It all happened in the last seven minutes or so. Two and a half minutes between Camavinga’s red and Diaz’s goal, with another five minutes before Olise’s stunning winner.

Real are reportedly still protesting in the tunnel, in very unedifying scenes. Camavinga’s red card – for delaying the restart – was daft but it was a clear second yellow. Nothing to protest there.

Bayern celebrate with the home faithful. A huge, huge win.

It seems the substituted Arda Guler was handed a red for the protestations after Olise’s late winner. Lots more Real complaints incoming, I think it’s fair to expect.

That goal by Olise was a beauty, cutting inside on his left foot and letting fly from 22 yards out, cannoning off the woodward and into the goal.

And it’s the winner on the night!

GOAL! Bayern Munich 4-3 Real Madrid (6-4 agg.)

‘90+4: Bayern win on aggregate and win on the night! The Bayern fans are in dreamland. Poor Lunin sits on the floor in exhaustion.

It’s Olise with the last kick of the game!

Real are complaining about the ref blowing the whistle immediately afterwards. Bellingham is having to be restrained from screaming at the officials, not a good look.

‘90+3: Diaz bends a sweet ball towards Olise some 25 yards out… it’s a bit too high and Olise falls to ground in frustration.
