Michael Kim has leapt to the top of the leaderboard at golf’s 3M Open in Minneapolis with a second round of 59.
The American carded 12 birdies – four of them on the last four holes – and no bogeys.
He completed just the 16th round of 59 or under in PGA Tour history, to set a clubhouse lead of 14 under par.
Padraig Harrington is two-over-par and Paul McGinley is three-over-par ahead of today’s third round at the Senior Open.
Harrington’s defence of the title took a severe blow yesterday as he followed up his opening day 70 with a two-over-par round of 72.
McGinley also moved down the leaderboard yesterday as a result of a disappointing round of 75.
Australian Cameron Percy holds a three-shot lead on nine-under-par.
