Ellen Walshe has won a second gold medal at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris.
The Dublin swimmer became European 200 metres individual medley champion earlier.
Walshe’s victory follows her first place finish in the 400 metres individual medley final on Wednesday.
Her pursuit of a third medal is still intact after she qualified from the women’s 200 metres butterfly semi-finals.
In the men’s 15-hundred-metres-freestyle, Daniel Wiffen finished in eighth.
A fifth placed finish in the men’s 50 metres freestyle semi-finals booked Tom Fannon’s place in the final.
Mona McSharry remains in the hunt for a third medal this week after she progressed to the final in the women’s 50 metres breaststroke final.
The European Championships come to an end today.
A number of Irish swimmers have already competed in heats in Paris.
The women’s 4 by one hundred metres medley relay team have advanced to the final.
They finished in a time of 4 minutes and zero point nine-five seconds, securing fifth in their heat and seventh overall.
They will return to the pool just after 7pm this evening.
The men’s 4 by one hundred metres medley relay team did not progress to the medal race.
A sixth place finish in heat three meant that they could only seal 10th place overall.
There were no Irish qualifiers from the men’s 400 metres freestyle heats.
Denis O’Brien, Nathan Wiffen and Cormac Rynn were all in action in that event.
While Victoria Catterson had to withdraw from the women’s 400 metres freestyle heats.
