The Golden State Warriors have shown a continued interest in adding guard De’Anthony Melton to their roster.

During the 2024 offseason, the Warriors brought Melton in on a one-year contract worth $12.8 million – notably, the only free agent that summer to secure the full midlevel exception. Unfortunately, Melton’s stint in Golden State was cut short.

After appearing in just six games, during which he averaged 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game while hitting 37.1% of his three-point attempts, he suffered a significant knee injury that required ACL surgery.

Following the procedure, the Warriors traded him to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Dennis Schröder. Despite the injury setback, Melton remains a sought-after player.

In addition to the Warriors’ ongoing interest in bringing him back, the Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly emerged as another team pursuing the 27-year-old guard.

Melton is represented by agents Joe Smith, Thaddeus Foucher, and Aaron Klevan. Beyond Melton, the Warriors continue to monitor other potential veteran additions.

They remain interested in acquiring veteran big man Al Horford in the near future and have now also been linked to guard Bradley Beal, signaling a clear intent to strengthen their roster with experienced talent.
