Sergio De Larrea led Valencia with 23 points, shooting 5 of 7 from three-point range. Kameron Taylor added 15 points, Nate Reuvers scored 14, while Omari Moore and Darius Thompson contributed 13 each. Thompson’s three early triples in the third quarter helped Valencia take firm control.
For Virtus, Matt Morgan had a game-high 24 points, while Carsen Edwards and Derrick Alston scored 15 apiece. Despite their efforts, the visitors could not overcome Valencia’s balanced scoring and efficient offense.
Virtus started the game hot, with Edwards hitting early threes to give the Italian side an 11–15 lead. Valencia responded with a 13–4 run, finishing the first quarter ahead 26–23. Omari Moore’s layups and relentless offensive rebounding allowed the hosts to pull further ahead to 42–30 before Virtus narrowed the halftime gap to 49–46.
Thompson’s shooting sparked Valencia early in the third, helping the team go on an 11–0 run to push the lead to 60–48. Virtus stayed competitive, closing the quarter to 75–71, setting up a tense final period.
Early in the fourth quarter, Valencia led 77–73, then went on a decisive 17–6 run to seal the contest. Virtus continued to fight but could not regain momentum as Valencia’s precision and composure under pressure ensured the win.
Valencia now sits at 2–0 in EuroLeague play, showing promise in its return to Europe’s top-tier competition after a year in the EuroCup. Virtus drops to 1–1 following the loss, facing a challenging road ahead.
