Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro is nearing his long-awaited return following the ankle surgery he underwent in the offseason.
According to the report, Herro is aiming to make his season debut on Monday when Miami faces the Dallas Mavericks.
The 25-year-old returned to full practice earlier this week, marking his first major step toward rejoining the lineup after being sidelined since his procedure in September.
Herro was a major contributor for the Heat last season, earning his first All-Star selection while posting career highs of 23.9 points and 5.5 assists per game.
Miami believes he can slide back into the rotation smoothly despite the team undergoing notable stylistic changes during his absence.
Head coach Erik Spoelstra expressed confidence that Herro will fit into the Heat’s revamped offensive philosophy.
Miami has shifted to a motion-heavy system that emphasizes drive-and-kick actions and significantly faster pace, a departure from the slower, pick-and-roll-focused offense they relied on in previous years.
