The Memphis Grizzlies announced that guard Ty Jerome has been diagnosed with a high-grade right calf strain suffered in the first quarter of the team’s preseason matchup against the Miami Heat on October 17. The organization stated that Jerome will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
Jerome, 28, joined Memphis in the offseason after a productive 2024–25 campaign with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He averaged 12.5 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game while shooting 51.6% from the field and 43.9% from three-point range across 70 regular-season appearances.
His absence is an early setback for the Grizzlies, who are aiming to rebound from an injury-plagued 2024–25 season.
Before the setback, Jerome appeared in three preseason games, averaging 8.7 points and 3 assists in limited minutes.
Jerome’s recovery timeline will depend on his progress during rehabilitation. High-grade calf strains typically require multiple weeks of rest and gradual on-court activity before players can return to full-speed basketball movements.
