Atlanta led by five with under three minutes remaining, but Wendell Carter Jr.’s two free throws tied it at 105 with 54 seconds left. Jalen Suggs’ layup tied it again after Young’s final field goal, and four free throws from Young in the closing 21 seconds sealed the victory.
Both teams struggled from deep, with the Hawks making just 8 of 29 three-pointers (27.6%) and the Magic finishing 9 of 32 (28.1%), missing all seven in the fourth quarter.
The Hawks will return home to face Oklahoma City on Saturday, while the Magic host Chicago in their next matchup.
