Indiana Pacers point guard TJ McConnell showed admiration for Rick Carlisle after earning his 1,000th win as an NBA head coach in a 114-112 Thursday night road win vs. the Charlotte Hornets.

“He’s a Hall of Famer. You don’t get to 1,000 wins without being a phenomenal coach. So, (I’m) honored to be able to help him get his thousandth. I’m sure he would have liked it a little bit sooner. But ever since he came here, my career has kinda taken off. So, I’m very thankful for him.”
