Swim Ireland and Sport Ireland both say they are disappointed with Shane Ryan’s decision to compete in the inaugural Enhanced Games next May.
Ryan, who recently retired, became the first Irishman to swim at three Olympic Games last summer.
The Enhanced Games are the first of its kind to allow the use of performance enhancing drugs.
