With the shorthanded Phoenix Suns, Devin Booker has to step up as the leader after the blockbuster Kevin Durant trade, making him the most experienced player on the team.

Although former Rockets star Jalen Green is included in the trade, he was sidelined again due to another hamstring injury, as the Suns were expected to be in a slump this early in the season.

However, Booker managed to lead with pride, as they currently have an 11-7 win-loss record, looking forward to consistency and more next man up for the Phoenix.

Meanwhile, as the 28-year-old has been leading the team, Suns owner Mat Ishbia has applauded what he has been doing so far for the franchise and spoken about his loyalty.

“Booker is a special guy and an amazing person. He means so much to the Arizona community, and he knows that. You find out who your real friends are when everyone else turns their back on you,” Ishbia said via DraymondShow.

With all the tough times they had, especially after falling short in the 2021 championship against the Milwaukee Bucks, Ishbia noted that Booker has been with him since day one.

“When we went through tough times, it’d be easy for a franchise player to say ‘I put my time in, I’m ready to go’. [Booker] did the reverse. He said ‘I’m with you Mat. I believe what we’re doing. I’m all in with you. Let’s do this.’ He’s had my back, and I’ll always have his back. I’m very honored and lucky to have him,” he added.
