
The Phoenix Suns jumped to an early lead and never looked back, defeating the Sacramento Kings 112-100 on Wednesday at Golden 1 Center.
Mark Williams led the way with 21 points and 16 rebounds, including nine offensive boards, while Collin Gillespie added 21 points and nine assists in his first start of the season.
Phoenix exploded in the first quarter, building a 41-16 lead by capitalizing on Sacramento’s seven turnovers. Devin Booker contributed 12 points early, finishing the game with 19 despite shooting 6 of 22 from the field.
The Suns maintained control at halftime, holding a 67-45 advantage, though the Kings rallied in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 83-73 entering the fourth. Phoenix responded with a seven-point run to regain separation.
Sacramento was led by Russell Westbrook and Keegan Murray, who both scored 19 points, while Malik Monk added 15 off the bench. Despite the effort, the Kings remained winless in the NBA Cup at 0-3.
Phoenix improved to 12-7 overall and 3-0 in NBA Cup play, demonstrating depth and efficiency on both ends of the floor. Williams’ dominance in the paint and Gillespie’s playmaking helped the Suns control the pace throughout.
The Suns will visit the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday, while the Kings travel to face the Utah Jazz in their next matchup.
