Stephen Curry highlighted Golden State’s team effort after the Warriors defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 131-118 on Monday at Chase Center.

“Everybody’s capable of finishing plays… knowing how I can be an off-ball threat, create some chaos,” Curry said, noting the contribution of his teammates in a balanced scoring effort.

Jonathan Kuminga led the Warriors with 25 points and 10 rebounds, while Brandin Podziemski added 23 points. Curry stressed the importance of younger players stepping up: “It’s huge… everybody has value and we need everybody to contribute on a night-to-night basis.”

Curry discussed the significance of wins early in the season and the confidence it brings to the locker room. “You want to have moments where different guys shine… over the course of the season everybody will be rewarded with the spotlight,” he said, emphasizing team chemistry and selflessness.

The Warriors pulled away in the third quarter, scoring 36 points with key contributions from Moses Moody and Kuminga. Curry credited defense as the foundation of the run: “All that started with our defense… you take care of the ball on the other side, over the course of time you wear on a team.”

Curry also addressed offensive simplicity and trust among teammates. “For Brandin [Podziemski], it’s just keeping the game simple… if you have a shot, cool. Shoot it. Have confidence. If not, get off of it quick. It’ll come back to you,” he explained regarding the rookie’s growth.

He praised Draymond Green’s energy late in the third quarter, which helped ignite the crowd and create momentum. “Those are moments you protect your home court… the crowd getting into it, us feeding off that, getting the stop and turning that into true momentum,” Curry said.

Curry emphasized the flexibility of Golden State’s offense and its adaptability to different lineups. “There’s not a lot of iso ball in our offense… people can fill in seamlessly. Gui hit a three right when he came in. Those are helpful moments where you can stay afloat regardless of the combinations,” he noted.

The Warriors improved to 3-1 with the win, while Memphis falls to 2-2. Golden State will host the Clippers on Tuesday, and the Grizzlies travel to Phoenix on Wednesday.
