Steph Curry will sit out the Golden State Warriors’ game Tuesday against the Philadelphia 76ers because of patellofemoral pain syndrome, commonly referred to as runner’s knee.

The condition involves inflammation and discomfort surrounding the kneecap area.

Curry first noticed the problem following a workout in Minneapolis on January 24, and the issue later forced him to exit last Friday’s game against the Pistons.

According to the player, the sensation was unfamiliar and not something he had dealt with previously.

Golden State has classified Curry’s status as day-to-day while he recovers.
