Stephen Curry credited persistence and confidence for Golden State’s 126-113 victory over the New York Knicks at Chase Center on Thursday. “Just keep shooting… stay confident. Try to do what I always do,” Curry said, reflecting on his slow start from beyond the arc.

Curry emphasized the team’s mindset after New York jumped to a 31-14 lead. “Our defense settled in to try to make possessions a little harder… and that group with Jimmy gave us a lot of life,” he explained. He highlighted the impact of Jimmy Butler in pick-and-roll situations. “Nobody can speed him up… he’s very comfortable with the ball, and it’s tough to guard him,” Curry added.

Moses Moody’s shooting was pivotal for the starting unit. “It’s beyond helpful… when he shoots like that, it unlocks things,” Curry said. He praised Moody’s approach to the game: “When he shoots, it feels like he doesn’t even know what his percentage is… he doesn’t press, and that’s great to see.” Curry also noted how Brandin Podziemski contributed with decisive offensive plays. “He made a tough side-step into the shot clock three… attacking downhill, getting to the paint,” Curry said.

Curry downplayed distractions surrounding Jonathan Kuminga becoming trade-eligible. “It’s not a distraction at all… our job is to just keep playing, keep winning,” he stated. He also described the importance of chemistry developing over the home stand. “This home stand’s been great… conversations around rotations and knowing who you’re playing with helps build comfort,” Curry said.

On a personal note, Curry reflected on supporting WNBA athletes through his footwear. “I love being able to support her out there on the court,” he said, referencing Sabrina Ionescu, and added that it’s meaningful to highlight other talented voices in sports and entertainment.

Curry also shared pride of the Hornets announcing that will retire his father Dell Curry’s jersey. “Special… my dad’s jersey being retired in Charlotte is unbelievable… he’s been part of the franchise as ambassador and commentator for over a decade,” Curry said.

On the court, Curry scored 27 points with seven assists, while Butler added 32 points and eight rebounds. Moody shot 7-of-9 from three for 21 points, and Podziemski contributed 19. The Knicks were led by Miles McBride and OG Anunoby with 25 points each and Mikal Bridges with 21, while Karl-Anthony Towns posted a season-best 20 rebounds.

The win improves Golden State to 22-19 as they push closer to the playoff race, while New York falls to 25-15. Both teams meet again on Saturday, with the Warriors hosting Charlotte and the Knicks facing Phoenix.
