Sixers search for rebounding solutions

The Philadelphia 76ers recorded the third-lowest rebounding total of any game this season during Thursday’s win over the Sacramento Kings, a performance that highlighted an ongoing issue, according to Keith Pompey of The Inquirer.

Pompey notes that Philadelphia has ranked last in the NBA in rebounding over its past 11 games, a stretch influenced in part by the team’s decision to play smaller lineups.

That shift has included Adem Bona receiving backup center minutes ahead of Andre Drummond.

At the same time, Joel Embiid is averaging a career-low 7.5 rebounds per game, further contributing to the team’s struggles on the glass.

Because of those factors, Pompey reports that head coach Nick Nurse is weighing the option of reintroducing Drummond into certain rotations, depending on matchups, in an effort to address the rebounding concerns.
